Election-2024 Board of Directors

The Burnt Store Lakes Property Owners Association, Inc. Annual Meeting and Election of Board of Directors, will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at the Burnt Store Presbyterian Church, 11330 Burnt Store Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33955. 

Please consider serving your Burnt Store Lakes community by volunteering to be a candidate for the 2024 Board of Directors’ election.  It’s vitally important for Association Members to take an active role in the direction of our community.  The BSL Board of Directors’ purpose is to serve you, our community residents, by managing the finances and affairs of the Association.  This includes maintenance of all common areas (lakes, drainage, community park, kayak launch, etc.), enforcing compliance with deed restrictions (including new construction), and planning for future common area improvements to enhance the quality of life for residents and add value for all property owners. If you are interested in volunteering your time to accomplish these objectives, please consider placing your name on the ballot for election at the Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 19, 2024. 

There are a total of seven (7) Directors.  Four (4) positions will expire this year:  Thomas Freimark, Elisabeth Geltz, Richard Hefright, and Rick Mathis.  Each newly elected Director receives a term of two (2) years.  At the end of the first two years, the Director may elect to run again to be re-elected for another two years (four years total).  Three of the four current Directors are eligible to be re-elected, should they choose to run.   We are actively soliciting candidates to run for these four (4) positions. Prospective candidates, including those currently serving, will need to submit a Candidate Statement of Interest (copy below).  Statements may be submitted as outlined on the form.  

All Statements of Interest must be received by the close of business on Thursday, August 1, 2024.  The four (4) open Board of Directors’ positions will be determined by voting ballot during the Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 19, 2024.   If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the BSLPOA Office at 941-639-5881 or any BSL Director.  Director contact information is listed on the BSLPOA website at bslpoa.org/p/Board-of-Directors.   We hope you will seriously consider placing your name on this year’s ballot.
